Ryan Lawrence 8 years ago updated by Vitor França 7 years ago 4 2 duplicates

if i open a new tab i probably want to search for something, or open a url that i go to all the time, google has spent waaaayyyy more time optimizing this then you can possibly hope to replicate, so dont take the focus away from the chrome url bar, or at least add the option to not remove the focus

there is an option to disable this currently.

I also would like to use the focus be on the Omnibox. One reason is that I am accustomed to using it, another is that it is easier to open new tabs for the search results, which is how I normally use the Omnibox.

It is also slow, so by the time it gets focus, I have already typed a few characters. I removed the extension because of this. Email me if you ever fix it please.

the default should be not to focus on the search bar

the average user won't go through the options to change something he doesn't like, he will just remove the extensions.

I had to remove the extension, and I was going to give this feedback just to know that there is this option, now I'll install it again
